1. Characters - The characters you read about in stories have feelings and personality traits just like you. And a good reader gets to know characters based on their words, actions, thoughts and feelings. 人物说简单也不简单哦,故事中的人物和你一样有自己的个性和情感。而一个好的读者会根据故事中他们的言行、思想和情感来了解这些人物。
character feelings(人物情感)以及character traits(人物特点)的不同:
- Character's feelings are the emotions they have in response to a specific situation. They can change over time. 人物情感是其针对不同的情况而产生的,比如生气、高兴、失落等等,这是经常在变化的。
- Character's traits are the part of their personality that is consistent over time. Traits don't change as much as feelings. 人物特点是其性格的一部分,一般而言是不太会变化的。比如一个generous的人,不会莫名其妙地就变成了一个stingy的人。
一般character traits可以用这些词来描绘:bossy, brave, clever, curious, determined, evil, foolish, friendly, funny, giving, greedy, honest, imaginative, jealous, polit, responsible, rude, selfish, serious, smart, sneaky, shy, thoughtful, generous, principled, kind......
2. Setting 背景
Setting - Where and When a story takes place. 故事背景就是故事发生的地点和时间。
有些人可能会觉得这个重要吗?回答是肯定的。
- Helps readers to visualiza the scenes of a story. 帮助读着想象故事中的场景。
- May affect a character's actions or choices. 背景的设定对于人物的言行或选择是会有影响的。
3. Summary 归纳总结
归纳总结不外乎who, what, where, when, why, how. 再细节来说就是总结人物、背景、冲突、行动和解决方案。
- A shortened version of the story. It retells all the important parts of the story. 就是精简故事内容。
可以用以下的方式来帮助总结:
- Beginning: Who are the characters? What is the setting? What is the problem?
- Middle: What do the characters do to solve the problem? What is the climax of the story?
- End: How is the problem solved? How have the characters changed?
