一、rather than是什么意思
1.与其……，不如……；不是……，而是……（conj.）
eg: You are ruining him rather than helping him.
你这是在害他而不是帮他。
He is a singer rather than a teacher.
与其说他是个老师，还不如说他是个歌手。
2.宁愿……，也不……（prep.）
eg: I decided to go out rather than staying with him at home.
我宁愿出去也不愿意和他待在家里。
She determined to risk her life rather than betraying her friends.

二、精讲rather than的用法
1.连接两个名词或代词
eg: Teachers rather than students are going to attend the meeting.

2.连接两个形容词

3.连接两个介词（短语）
